Most Christians are taught that they are ” in the world,” but not ” of the world.”

To quote the character Doc Holliday in the movie Tombstone, “I beg to differ, Sir.”

I’d like to see some official paperwork on that, because according to my birth certificate, I am of this world; I am of my parents. And I am of the hospital in Wilson, NC, in the 60’s.

I am of North Carolina

Actually, that teaching sounds more like psychological warfare. A tactic to keep believers afar.

Personally, I enjoy many things in the world. It is, as always, more about the right use of the world’ s resources.

I know most folks probably view that teaching as simply “don’t let worldliness mislead you.”

Nothing wrong with that.

But a believer does have to live and eat and breathe and function in the world.

A church family, or the biological family, can’t always support each other. A believer must freely move about as any other person.

I will revise my thinking on this when I get the paperwork from Heaven.

Otherwise, I will not be bullied into accepting I must ” stay out of the world.”

Reminds me of a time someone came by to collect my rent, in person. I said I pay the office every month. They tried to convince me they were the owner or manager.

I replied, “Bring me the lease and we’ll talk.”

I assert that I am a believer.

And, until further notice, I am in this world, and of this world.
